Bonding services
We are one of the few rabbit rescues who offer bonding as part of our services.
There are currently two YRR volunteers that bond, both very experienced, one indoors and one outdoors.
Rabbits joining us for bonding must:
-
Be neutered
-
Be at least 6-8 weeks post operation to allow hormones to settle
-
Have up-to-date annual vaccinations
We will need to know if they are housed indoor or outdoor; this is particularly important when bonding during the winter months.
Price list
External bonds - minimum donation £150
Adoption bonds - suggested donation £80

How it works
We start the bonding process for you using the 24/7 method (used by most ethical rescues) and usually expect to keep the rabbits a minimum of a week. Occasionally we may need to keep them slightly longer depending on their progress but we will keep you informed as and when necessary. We keep everyone updated with how everything is going whilst they are with us.
Prior to collecting your rabbits from us it is advisable to thoroughly clean / disinfect where they will be returning to as they can be very territorial about their space. White vinegar is recommended to remove your rabbits scent from the area. Change the layout so it is less familiar for your existing rabbit and replace anything you can to provide a more neutral environment. Avoid placing any of your rabbits favourite toys/hides etc to begin with, you can add these in once the bond is more established.
When you take the rabbits home you must continue the bonding process, as per the comprehensive written instructions we will supply you with. We will continue to support you fully through the bonding process if required.
